Daniela and Christina’s engagement shoot has to be one of my favorites to date! Frank and I originally planned to take their engagement photos where we are based in Naples, Florida. We had to quickly change plans due to the damage Hurricane Ian caused to Southwest Florida.
While searching for a venue for their engagement photos, we came across Bonnet House in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This was a perfect location due to the historical background and its vibrant nature. The location also offered similar aesthetics to the exact place Daniela and Christian were originally engaged with a lot of florals and colorful tones.
The Session:
When we arrived, we began taking their engagement photos within the inside of the house which offered a beautiful fountain surrounded by lush greenery and florals. We moved on to take photos along the pathways of the courtyard against colorful yellow backdrops which made for amazing scenery. We also took photos at the very entrance to Bonnet House (pictured below). In my opinion, the entrance looked very exotic in nature and reminiscent of Carribbean architecture.
We then moved on to the outside grounds of the home which were just as beautiful as the inside. We found a beautiful pond filled with lilly pads and greenery that made the perfect backdrop for wide shots (pictured below). To our suprise (not really, we live in Florida), it started down-pouring rain. We decided to keep shooting and I’m so glad we did! We were able to capture some amazing shots! Take a look for yourself and let us know what these photos remind you of. Maybe a little, “The Notebook” vibes?
We ended their engagement photos by taking a walk down a more isolated pathway. The pathway looked like an enchanted forest and offered a beautiful end to an amazing and fun engagement photoshoot! Frank and I can’t wait to photograph their romantic ceremony next year.
